Capacity calculator
How many hours is your firm missing?
This calculator estimates three things from your own numbers: the billable hours your team loses each year to phones and admin, what it costs to cover open roles while they stay unfilled, and what a recruiter would typically charge to fill them. It runs in your browser. Nothing you enter is sent to us.

How we calculate
- Hours back a year = hours a week × 46 working weeks. Billable value = hours back × your billable rate.
- Covering open roles = open roles × hours covered a week × weeks open (months × 4.33) × loaded hourly cost.
- Recruiter fee = first-year salary × 15% to 25%, the range in the cited source, for each open role.
- Fees turned away = clients turned away × average annual fee.
- The starting values are placeholders, not benchmarks. Replace them with your own numbers.
- These are estimates from your inputs, not forecasts.
